I am now the Digital Universe Foundations technical evangelist and am now blogging for the Digital Universe on the official blog. Larry Sanger and I are blogging about what we are doing for the Digital Universe Foundation. I am so pleased and honored to be working with such amazing people. We have been working hard on this project for quite some time now and are getting close to more public availability. I would encourage you to check out what we are doing over at http://www.digitaluniverse.net and check out the blog as well.
Constructing the Digital Universe
“This article is one of the most concise break downs of how the next generation of collaborative tools will be leveraged that I have ever read. Although focused more specifically on business this has far reaching implications beyond business. The piece starts out talking about how the students that are coming out of school are going to take the tools they know, Wiki’s, Blogs and other Read/Write web solutions to get work done in revolutionary new ways.”

So the long anticipated release of One Night in Portland has finally occurred. It is now available on DVD and has been rotoscoped, very cool. I play a paramedic who shows up on the scene and then all hell breaks loose. People start dying left and right.
Look for scene where director’s instructions to me were “I want you to come out of the bathroom and scream like a little girl!” It is truly blood curdling and gives Julie Wand a run for her money when it comes to screaming.
I was lucky enough to see this on the big screen with the original cut that was not rotoscoped but I think the rototscoping adds an air and makes this film more erie.
FYI: I spend at least an hour a day practicing my Oscar speech in the mirror.
One Night in Portland
When an agent of a secret international government (Drew Barrios) is sent to capture an entity on the loose from a university laboratory, he goes about his track and trap protocol, only to find that night shift fans of indie rock and alien conspiracist radio show host DJ Eddie Lee (Damon Jones) are dying of otherworldly radiation exposure, and with dawn approaching he must race to cover up the events of one night in Portland. An ensemble cast including scream queen Julie Wand and the feature film debut of Joshua Allen Heck haunt a nightscape of unique Portland landmarks (including the Nob Hill Pharmacy made famous in Gus Van Sant’s Drug Store Cowboy and the abandoned Damash Mental Hospital (from Men Of Honor). Presented in a unique digitally rotoscoped style with an amazing underground soundtrack, One Night In Portland is a bold and disturbing foray in new media.

I really enjoy all her music but this is one of my favorites. It is so touching and well not to be too sappy but a little tugging of the heart strings might occur. This was the Podcast Hotel Party the last night of Inno Tech where we also piped in artists from Second Life. I want to see a foxyflwr Cure and Samantha Paperdoll duet. Thanks to Samantha for letting me put this up, it not even released as a single yet. That's right you are gettting the goods and all cause you checkin out Multi-Media Me. Enjoy

Who do you think it should be? I throw out a list of 10 on the comments section and of course offer my services to the cause.
“ If elected I will serve for the people by the people and with the people. With my track record of achievement in *insert political hot button issue* I can effectively solve these issues by working together in a non-partisan manner and will look out for you my constituents. Together we can build a ship to the future in which all men are created equal and the rich and the poor live together in gingerbread palaces with milk chocolate rivers. Where champagne wishes and caviar dreams are accessible to all through free vending machines on every corner. An Escalade in every drive way and 5 chickens in every pot because the buck stops here!”

We really twisted some minds with this one. Eric and I set up a an impromptu performance with Foxyflw Cure, Juel Resistance and Takamura Keiko and projected it up onto the big screen and piped the audio through the speakers at the venue. We also had live performances at the Dream Box so we really Mixed the Realities here. You will see much more on this event.

So with only minor rumblings coming out of Redmond when it comes to podcast creation tools and Windows Media player it makes some people go hmmm? No big Origami styled hype around the tools that you know they have to be developing, just a few random conversations and postings. Well Mr. Cochrane is making a bold prediction on when and what will be coming out of the mouths of Microsoftians in regards to this issue. Last year it was the first public viewing of IE 7 that Microsoft released at Gnomedex. Could the Scobleizer and his Channel crews have some new tools that will mix Windows Movie Maker with Windows Media Player and sprinkle in a new an improved Sound Recorder to create the MicroCaster application for Vlogging, Podcasting and wait…. wait….. wait for it…… Blogging?
Scoble is using Wordpress… Multi-User Wordpress … LockerGnome and multi-user Wordpress .. Chris puts on Gnomedex .. Matt is in Seattle ***Insert Ridiculous Rumor*** Microsoft must be buying Wordpress.
No but seriously Microsoft has all the pieces and have drank the RSS Kool Aid so you know it only makes sense for them to at least put a podcatching feature in Media player as well as make it a tool for creating podcasts and vlogs.

I am going to go out on a limb here and am willing to bet cold hard cash, that at the end of June right about the time of Gnomedex, that Microsoft will introduce to Windows XP a podcast creation tool and Windows Media player with Podcast integration, including a independent directory. This is based on a lot of conversations I have had over the past six months, and todays reporting that Windows Media Player 11 will be released sometime in June.
