Long Live Gnomedex!
I was just reading Chris Pirillo’s post on the vicious rumors that Gnomedex was dead and knew that they were just that but glad none the same to see Chris addressing them directly. With John Edwards as the Keynote speaker at last years Gnomedex, front page press on the Seattle Times and the red diaper doper baby comments from Canter you might see why people might speculate that Chris and Ponzi will have a hell of a time topping that and might consider making that the grand finally. You combined that with the talk that Gnomdex might be headed to L.A. and let the conspiracy theories fly.
My favorite was that Gnomedex 2007 was going to be produced as a full length feature film directed by Tim Burton and Staring lonleygirl15, Brookers and Dave Winer as the Dr. Emmett Brownesk software developer who Outlines the formula to fix the Internet. I also heard that if Burton could not do it Eric Rice was going to direct but it was all going to be shoot as Machinima in Second Life. Did you hear the one where Steve Gillmor, Kaliya Hamlin and Werner Vogels had bought the rights and were going to change the name to the Attention ID Neutrality Conference. Oh or the one that Scoble and Furrier were both moving to Seattle to go to work for Microsoft, because Microsoft had purchased Lockergnome and all it subsidiaries and were going to turn them into a local radio show, mail order series on VHS about conferences and a magazine entitled the Redmond Gnome.
Ah the rumor mill don’t you just love it.
Well I for one know Gnomedex 2007 can live up to 2006 and perhaps even surpass it. In fact I might just know something about some exciting things that might be in the works … well I would not want to start any rumors.
See you in Seattle Gnomeies.
